The Maryland Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Council was established by the legislature in 2011 to develop a plan for integrating EVs and EV charging infrastructure into Maryland’s transportation network. In 2012, EVIC issued an Action Plan to achieve a goal of 60,000 EVs on the road in Maryland by 2020. EVIC continues to be Maryland’s chief organizing force for ZEV initiatives. A bill pending in the 2015 legislative session would extend EVIC’s operation to 2020.
