In 2014, Drive Electric Vermont – a coalition led by the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation and funded by the state – completed a pilot incentives program: $500 incentives for consumers at point-of-sale and $250 incentives for dealers. The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) is awaiting review of a funding application to expand these incentives. The new levels will be: $1000-$750 for consumers based on battery size, and $250 for dealers. Vermont’s Agencies of Transportation and Natural Resources are planning to review lessons learned from incentive programs and options for structuring a new incentive in summer/fall 2015.
